Obtaining Information to Determine Training Needs

Staffs, management, external consultants, meetings (Kruse et al. 1994) could be sources of collecting information. It is possible that through interview, questionnaire, observation, case study analysis, someone can collect information. Identification of required knowledge, skills and attitudes for TNA will depend on the knowledge or efficiency of the person undertaking this process. Again, it is needed to set a timescale and standard of competence required.
Bee and Bee (1994) suggested a series of sources from where training professionals can collect information while performing TNA.

Sources stated in figure (2.2) are universally used to collect information, though other methods can be used.
