Human Resource Planning

Human resource planning is-
“...to ensure adequate numbers of competent personnel in particular occupations, at given times, consistent with, and related to, the overall business strategy” (Boydell 1990, p. 16; cited by Bee and Bee 1994, p. 23).

It is important to have training related information of all the employees within the organization, for deciding on current or future training needs. Kruse et al. (1994) suggested making a list of internal potential of human resources, their functions and job requirements. Human resource planning (HRP) is great tool for gathering information while performing TNA. Different target population will have different training needs, which can be collected form HRP. Again it helps the training department to work with the business’s strategy. Past training history is an essential part.
