Training

Heery and Noon (2001) defined training as an incremental improvements and King (1964) defined it as providing environment where individuals can learn effectively. Both the authors indicated the improvements and learning as to develop knowledge, skills and attitude to be more competent. Buckley and Caple (2000) defined training as „planned and systematic‟ process and it should result in modified and developed knowledge, skills or attitude (which is discussed later in this chapter). They meant that training should give what it takes to perform a job in work situation. Above discussed authors stated training as a planned and systematic process to learn effectively within a supportive environment, through which individuals can develop, modify and acquire new knowledge, skills and attitude to improve competences.
