Setting Priorities for training

It may not be necessary to perform training on all the gaps in performance. It is important to prioritise. This will identify what training should be carried out, which order and what can be left out for the future or can be avoided. Bee and Bee (1994) suggested giving emphasis on the following factors while prioritising.
  • a.       Importance of the training needed on the business.
  • b.      Urgency of the training.
  • c.       Impact on business in future for performing or not performing the training programme.

While prioritising the ‘needs information’ gathered from training needs analysis, responsible management needs to be very careful and intelligent. Because, any wrong decision at present may create bigger problem; where it may be more difficult to change or may take more time with big losses.
