Training Gap

‘Training gap’ can be found through comparing required competencies in job specification and what competencies target population already have (Buckley and Caple 2000). After this trainer will have an idea that what should be the target contents of the training. Cole (1993) suggested the same. He said that shortfall of employee knowledge, skill, understanding, attitudes comparing required standard for the role or demands of any changes, indicates training need. He expressed this through following figure:
