Management Information System (MIS)

Management information system (MIS) is one of the different tools of gathering information regarding training needs. Bee and Bee defined MIS as a system which provide,
“...the right information in the right form at the right time, so enabling the manager effectively and efficiently to do his/ her job” (Bee and Bee 1990, p. 3; cited by Bee and Bee 1994, p. 46).

They did not differentiate among the types of information MIS should provide. But whatever may be the information, it has to be available to the manager at the right form at the right time. It facilitates managers to analyse and take decisions properly. In case of training needs analysis or planning, MIS plays a vital role for the training professionals. It can provide necessary information regarding employees and business.
